This is my review for Tata Photon Plus. I just got an email from tataphoton@tatateleservices.com saying that “Tata Photon Plus Wins Product Of The Year”! I was shocked because I have been using it for the past 6 months with so much of frustrations.
The email also says, “The recognition has been credited to us in a survey conducted across India by Nielson”. I do not know where they have conducted the survery but the email also says, “this survey was conducted amongst thousands of consumers like you”!!
Okay here is my actual 2 cents I want to put before everyone. I got this Tata Photon plus by paying just Rs.700 (or something I forgot the exact amount) as an offer when I purchased my HP Mini Laptop. I got the HP from Staples and for Tata Photon plus, I went to the Tata Indicom office in Koramangala (in Bangalore).
I paid some Rs.700 and they have me the Blue color Photon plus USB device. I have some seen photon plus in black also but mine is the blue (bigger and more beautiful) one. At first there was some problem with the activation but the guy in the Indicom office resolved the issue.
Now, the actual speed part. Maximum speed I have got in this photon plus may be somewhere like 20kb/sec, even when I get 4 pillars in the network strength meter! That is just pathetic. And the device keeps disconnecting most of the time.
Anyway, I have now downgraded my subscription to Rs.250 per month with 250 MB free plan and I use it only when I go out. If you are planning to use it like normal wired broadband, you will simply regret it.

I’ve been trying to cancel my connection from January 2011 onwards and have made several calls to the customer care about it. The have given numerous docket numbers and disconnected my connection and they been billing me for last 4 months… Read full review
I am using photon plus since last 6 months here in delhi.Speed is low,thus not satisfactory.not recommended for those who want speedy internet.

I have been using tata fotone for last 2 years with very much satisfactorily. I think in north east (Nagaland, Dimapur) tata fone is the co. who provides the high speed of internet facilities. Hand up to TATA communictions team.
Hope to provide more facilties in future especially in North East India.

We are waiting from January month for your response on our net speed. Till now there is no change and no reply from tata photon end. We are sending mails and no response from tata photon end. Once i check with my friends room there the net speed is good. When I raised complaint they said in our area signal is not good, so they are improving the technology to improve speed here. I am waiting since January. We are .wasting our valuable time and money because of network
tata photon in kolkata is superb i have a tarrif plan of 5gb unlimited for 800 which gives a download soeed of atleast 100kb/sec for the first five gb
i have been using tata photon plus since 4 month still iam not getting good download speed. iam paying more than 700 rs but still no change in there speed. 1x speed of tata photon plus is unbelievable it is 10-15 kbps only that is very bad speed, not comparable. iam giving advise to take idea 3g netsetter because it is very fast.
